
Central Arizona Broadcasting begin transmitting over the air
in February of 1999 on UHF channel 47. The first televised
program was the O'Odham Tash parade. Shortly after beginning
operations, TV47 began a producing a daily newscast featuring
the news, sports and weather for Pinal County. |

For six years, K47FW transmitted under a special temporary
license from the FCC, pending completion of their low power
television application. During that time, production equipment
was upgraded, more programs were produced locally and all the
while increasing the number of viewers.

September 1, 2009 taking down the original channel 47
antenna. It took five days to switch antennas, install the new
transmitter and get everything back online. Then came a
few days of field testing and making sure it all worked!
On September 9th, 2005 the station resumed broadcasting,
taking the new call sign of KCAB-LP. The evening newscast moved
to a new timeslot—6:30 P.M. & 10:00P.M. Monday - Friday.
